Inspection information

Purpose of the inspection

Inspection by Mainland Education is designed to assess a college’s compliance with the
College Standards recognised by UKVI. The Standards cover, among other matters, the
quality of education and welfare provided to all students, including those from overseas
who are sponsored by the college for Tier 4 visas, and, where applicable, those who are
under eighteen or are vulnerable adults. Our inspections provide an objective and reliable
evaluation of whether colleges meet the Standards. They take account of the context of
each individual college and of how it evaluates its own performance and demonstrates its
success. Inspectors help colleges, their staff and governors or proprietors to recognise and
build on their strengths and identify and remedy their weaknesses. Our reports provide
UKVI and all other readers with a clear assessment of the college’s compliance with the
Standards.

The independent colleges inspected by Mainland Education Ltd all have a distinct ethos or
clear religious purpose. Their inspection reports are available in the next section of this
website.
